OVERVIEW

Four Day Sahara Desert Trek

The Sahara is the world’s second largest desert after Antarctica. At over 9,000,000 square kilometres (3,500,000 square miles), it covers much of northern Africa; an area stretching from the Red Sea, including parts of the Mediterranean coasts, to the outskirts of the Atlantic Ocean. It is almost as large as the continental United States, and is larger than Australia.

DAY 1

Marrakech – Skoura Palm Grove – Todgha Gorges

Departure in the morning from Marrakech with our 4WD Toyota and driver towards the Todgha gorges. We first explore the Skoura palmary and it’s magnificent Kasbah of Amehidil built since the 17th century. Next city is Kelaat Mgouna known for the festival of roses that takes place every year in the area. From here, we take the left fork and cross the Berber villages of the Rose valley and then continue on track which leads from Boutaghrar to Ait Youl Kasbah. Lunch break will be taken in a typical Berber lodge. In the afternoon, we will continue with our 4×4 vehicle to reach Dades valley finally arriving to the spectacular site of Togha gorge where we will spend the night.

Arriving to the dunes at the sunset time we will exchange the 4×4 with a camel to ride over dunes and reach the bivouac where we will spend the night under the stars.
